West Durrington community park gets go ahead

A new community park in West Durrington that residents and local groups helped to design has been given the green light.

Planning permission has been granted for a new play park and multi-use games area as well as junior football pitches and community allotments on the land to the north of Fulbeck Way, West Durrington.

Worthing food bank works with community to tackle root causes of food insecurity

A Worthing food bank is continuing to work with the community to tackle the root causes of food insecurity after securing funding from Worthing Borough Council.

Worthing Food Foundation, which also runs Worthing Vegan Food Bank, was awarded £30,000 from the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Neighbourhood Fund to support its community outreach work.

Radio 1 Star Visits South Coast to Chat Dadulthood For Comic Relief

Radio 1 star Matt Edmondson has visited members of an innovative dads’ group on the South Coast to find out how Comic Relief is helping them battle social isolation in fathers. The DJ, who will soon take over the reins of the Radio 1 afternoon show with co-host Mollie King, filmed with Worthing-based Dad La Soul for a slot on BBC 1’s Morning Live as well as recording audio that will be played out on Radio 1 in the run-up to Red Nose Day on Friday 15th March.

The Morning Live film is scheduled to go out on Tuesday, March 11th, and will highlight the positive impact that Dad La Soul’s playdates and dads-only meet-ups have had on attendees' mental health.

£100k award accelerates pace of pioneering marine rewilding project

An ambitious collaborative project working to enable nature to take the lead across 100 miles of Sussex coastline is to be awarded £100k of funding from charity Rewilding Britain.

Sussex Bay, the organisation behind the project, has a vision for a healthy marine ecosystem for the Sussex Bay area, an extensive seascape that encompasses 100 miles of coastline from Selsey Bill to Camber Sands and is home to over 1 million residents.
