Free online workshops start in September to help West Sussex businesses maximise theimpact and accessibility of digital technologies.
The Recover and Rise SME Digital Accelerator programme is a four-part series comprising
more than 25 online workshops:
● Series 1: Getting Online
● Series 2: Customers and Marketing
● Series 3: Systems and Productivity
● Series 4: Growth Expansion and New Products.
The aim is to help Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) utilise digital tools and gain
expert knowledge and advice on how best to grow their online presence, attract and retain
new customers and work more productively.
The workshops start on 9 September and will take place at 12pm on Tuesdays and
Thursdays. They will run through to January 2022.

New initiative to prevent suicide launched in Adur and Worthing
A new initiative, which aims to train hundreds of public-facing workers and volunteers in Adur and Worthing on how to spot the signs that someone is in crisis is launched on today to mark World Suicide Prevention Day.A free 90-minute online training course has been designed for people who work or volunteer with the public, including car park attendants, volunteers at food banks and bar staff - those who are more likely to be in contact with someone who is considering suicide.

New mini aquarium is teeming with local marine life
A native marine life aquarium which shows the richness of the waters off the Sussex coast can now be visited inside Worthing Coastal Office.Rockpool Reef was created by the Councils’ Coastal Wardens - who collected water, sediment and corals for the tank, by hand.
Already, the abundance of marine life which was living inside has shown itself, including cuttlefish fry, shrimp, crab, hermit crab and small mullet fry.
The team is looking forward to documenting the creatures’ growth and telling their stories to anyone who wishes to visit.
Talks will include fascinating facts - like learning the common prawns inside the aquarium are almost invisible when hunkered down in the sand - hiding or awaiting their next meal.

LEADERS PLEDGE SUPPORT TO FIND SHELTER FOR AFGHAN REFUGEES
The Leaders of Adur & Worthing Councils today signalled support for the government’s emerging programme to house refugees fleeing turmoil in Afghanistan.The government is launching a new resettlement scheme for refugees aimed at helping those most in need, particularly women, girls and those who have been helping British operations in the country.
Leader of Adur District Council, Cllr Neil Parkin and Leader of Worthing Borough Council, Cllr Daniel Humphreys, said both their authorities were ready to step up to find accommodation for those evacuated after the Taliban swept to power in the wake of US military withdrawal from the country this week.
