In these challenging times of social distancing, E.Y.E.’s scheduled large gathering of school learners at the 13th Worthing& Adur Eco-Summit on the 2nd of July has had to take on a different approach, seizing the opportunity to go virtual.
The Eco-Summit is viewed as a highlight to all school eco-committees across the Worthing & Adur area. Historically we invite participants through school eco-leads, hosting over 200 school pupils aged 5-16 from across the Worthing & Adur area. Coming together for a day of fun whilst learning about the preservation of our environment through eco themed workshops and activities. Emphasising the role young people have towards a more sustainable way of life. Empowering their green journey and future actions.
Not to disappoint schools and children that had already registered, we are able to offer this exciting and experimental Eco-Summit approach to our wider interest groups; including those currently learning from home.
E.Y.E. have selected from our network of nationally recognised environmentalist groups, a range of eco themed workshops. Supporting us at this event are; Sussex wildlife Trust, Sustrans, Marine Conservation Society, Sussex Green Living, Worthing Food Pioneers, Shoreham Port, South Downs National Park and Worthing Honey Collective.
Including a special opening message from Nicola Peel (Environmentalist campaigner) all the way from her lockdown in Los Cedros Biological Reserve- Andean cloud forest of the Choco region of Ecuador.
In these times of pausing and observing the wonders of our recovering environment, we hope you attended our event and take inspirational action. The imminent period of relaxing social restrictions and when the word lockdown is in the past, we would recommend that the ‘getting back to normal’ translates into eco actions for giving ourselves a ‘fresh start’ regarding everyone’s impact upon our one and only planet.
Celebrate our ongoing challenge to provide Eco-leaner as part of the mainstream curriculum, by participating in our 1st Virtual Eco-Summit, 2nd July 10:00.
