On Saturday 10th October (World Mental Health Day) people of Worthing are invited celebrate the end of Worthing’s first ever online Mental Health Awareness Week with a FREE special afternoon of Entertainment & Virtual Afternoon Tea at Three lived streamed to Facebook courtesy of The Glamour Club who are thrilled to be partnering with WMHAW for the Grand Finale!
Janice Moth founder of the Glamour Club said:
“What better way to celebrate the end of a fantastic week than with a ‘Glamour Club Afternoon Tea at Three’.
Prepare yourselves for a treat fit for Kings & Queens and a great night out during the day.
We are bringing The Glamour Club Experience right into your own front room! With live music from the delightful Karen Etherington who will entertain us with our favourite songs from 40’s to 70’s.
So, dust down your finest clothes, prepare your own afternoon tea, set it upon your best crockery, switch on your computer and join in the fun.”
Taking place via Zoom on Saturday, 10 October 2020 between 3pm and 5pm!’.
The aim of the Week is to challenge the stigma around mental health and to provide good quality information in a safe and non-judgemental environment. Throughout the week there will be sessions of promoting selfcare and resilience.

Worthing Extinction Rebellion (XR) performed a thought and action provoking banner drop at 6am this morning on Worthing Pier. XR said "The world is way off track to stop run away climate and ecological breakdown. Worthing is a seaside town and sea rise levels are predicted to flood many areas. We must Act Now."

They urge that the catastrophic effects on human society and the natural world may spiral out of control if the Climate and Ecological Emergency is not addressed in time, including
⦁ Biodiversity Loss
⦁ Sea level rise
⦁ Desertification
⦁ Wildfires
⦁ Water shortage
⦁ Crop failure
⦁ Extreme weather
The combined result of these destabilising events will be:
⦁ Millions displaced
⦁ Disease
⦁ Increased risk of wars and conflicts
⦁ Impacts on human rights
The aim of the banner drop is to provoke thought and action amongst Worthing people because "We are in a planetary emergency. We must immediately begin improving carbon absorption, reduce emissions and stop the harm we are causing to the natural world." They state that "The task before us is daunting but we have proved big changes can be made during the Covid19 pandemic. We must Act Now."

Students, staff and parents are celebrating another year of fantastic GCSE results at Chatsmore Catholic High School, soon to be St Oscar Romero Catholic School.
In light of the extraordinary year, with grades being based on teacher assessment, schools in the Worthing area have agreed not to publish individual results. However, the school is delighted that for the third year in a row, the school has achieved record results, surpassing all previous attainment for prior years and confirming our continued upward trend of GCSE performance.
Stand out performances of individual students include;
Silas Turner, who achieved 8 grade 9s, 1 grade 8 and 3 grade 7s
Kathryn Rimmer - 6 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s, 1 grade 6 and 1 grade 5
Millie White - 7 grade 9s, 1 grade 8 and 2 grade 7s
Evelyn Winton – 4 grade 9s, 2 grade 8s, 3 grade 7s and 1 grade 6
N Paulauskas – 5 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and 3 grade 7s
Headteacher, Mr Byrne said: “I could not be prouder of our Year 11 leavers. Despite the challenges of the pandemic our students remained focused and always gave their best. The results they have achieved reflect their hard work and have broken all previous records. It has been fantastic to see a record number of students achieve the highest grades of 7s, 8s and 9s.

Another year of outstanding results for Chatsmore Catholic High School
