Answers demanded following waste leak by Southern Water

Adur & Worthing Councils are demanding answers from Southern Water following a leak by the company that has spilled waste into the sea.

Late last night (Tuesday 9th January) the water company reported to the councils that one of its outfall pipes was leaking waste off the coast.

Worthing submits applications to protect its coastline

Two applications seeking improved protection for Worthing’s coastal waters have been submitted to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra).

After collecting data throughout the summer along with its team of citizen scientists, Worthing Borough Council has this week submitted applications to designate two popular sections of shoreline as bathing areas.
