Worthing Borough Council has won its High Court challenge against plans to build 475 homes in the Goring Gap.In a judgement today Mrs Justice Lang found for the Council against the government and developer Persimmon Homes when she quashed a decision by a public inquiry inspector to give the scheme at Chatsmore Farm the go ahead.

The Big Listen kick-starts new approach to improve Worthing
Today (Friday 29 July), The Big Listen is being launched by Worthing Borough Council, signalling a new approach to strengthen relationships with community groups and listen to and work with residents on the issues they care most about.From next week, members of The Big Listen team will travel around the borough attending community events and holding pop-up conversations at key locations.

GREATER BRIGHTON STUDY UNDERWAY TO EXAMINE WAYS TO MAKE 40,000 COUNCIL HOUSES MORE ENERGY EFFICIENT
A ground-breaking Greater Brighton study shows that upgrading 40,000 council houses across the region could help drastically cut carbon emissions while reducing energy costs for tenants.The project involves seven local authorities who own housing stock looking at ways it can be made more energy efficient thus cutting down on carbon emissions. Much of the housing is old, meaning heating leaks easily from windows and roofs as well as tenants continuing to rely on gas for heating.
